Student Teaching

McGill Education students in B.Ed. and MATL programs gain valuable practical and rewarding experience through their student teaching placements. Mentored by veteran educators, student teachers put learned theory into practice interacting with students, colleagues, and others within their designated school communities.

McGill Faculty of Education is proud to partner with Montreal-area schools, boards, and other institutions to provide meaningful hands-on learning for student teachers in elementary and high school classrooms, science/computer labs, gymnasiums, and other learning settings.

The Faculty of Education’s Internships and Student Affairs Office (ISA) is responsible for the operations and organization of all student teaching placements, including:

  • The placement processes
  • Distance and alternative placements
  • Field experience/internship policies
  • Mentoring team
  • And more!
