CSSE Conference at McGill University

McGill Faculty of Education will be hosting the Candian Society for the Study of Education (CSSE) Conference from June 12th  to 17th  2024 on the theme of Sustaining Share Futures. Established in 1972, CSSE is the largest organization of professors, students, researchers, and practitioners in education in Canada. 

About the Conference

CSSE’s annual conference is Canada’s largest gathering of researchers, scholars, graduate students, and practitioners in education. The conference mandate is to build connections among educational researchers and those in the field, including teachers, education assistants, school psychologists, school and school district administrators, and others. Join this dynamic four-day conference focusing on theory and praxis in every facet of education, including teacher education, educational psychology, curriculum studies, Indigenous education, women in education, educational foundations, educational research, and comparative & international education. Teachers, school psychologists, education assistants, principals, superintendents, and more are very welcome at our conference.

Call for Volunteers

We are looking for people who are interested in contributing to making this conference a wonderful experience for all CSSE attendees and could join in on this inspiring event!

As a volunteer, you will expected to: 

• Volunteer for a minimum of two conference days, for a 4-hour block on each day

• Attend a volunteer orientation session in May (Date and time TBC)

• Contribute to the planning and execution of this important conference 

• Act as an ambassador for McGill Faculty of Education and support CSSE delegates and guests by

  • Greeting and directing visitors (wayfinding)  

  • Assisting visitors in downloading the CSSE Program to their device

  • Guiding visitors to available conference resources (e.g. a day-by-day conference visual overview)

You will have the opportunity to:

• Attend CSSE sessions for FREE

• Add to your professional knowledge 

• Network with people from around Canada 

• Get a some CSSE swag 

• Receive a personalized letter indicating your volunteer contribution to CSSE 

Create and commit to your own schedule! It is important to remind you that the more time you volunteer, the more time you will be able to benefit from this experience for academic and professional networking purposes.
