In 2020 the Gerald Bronfman Department of Oncology launched two important task forces: the McGill Task Force on the Impact of COVID-19 on Cancer Control and Care and the Global Oncology Task Force. Much work was accomplished by the two task forces and in January 2022 they became permanent programs in the Department, as the COVID-19 and Cancer Program and the Global Oncology Program. In the fall of 2023 the COVID-19 and Cancer Program was re-named the Cancer Care Resilience Program.
