Welcome, Parents!

Are you a parent of a McGill student? Wondering what health care is available to them?

McGill students can access physical and mental health services on campus, off campus, in-person, or remotely.

Health Care for McGill Students

McGill students can access in-person health care at our clinics on both the downtown and Macdonald campuses.  Depending on needs and availability, students may also choose to access care off campus or virtually.  These options are outlined below.

Telehealth

Telehealth refers to remote access to trained physical and mental health clinicians. McGill students have access to the following:

Student Wellness Hub

  • Physical & mental health services
  • Virtually connect with a nurse or mental health professional.  Doctors available for in-person appointments only.

Maple

  • Physical health services
  • Virtually connect with doctors via an app.

Dialogue

  • Physical health services
  • Virtually connect with nurses and doctors via an app.

keepme.SAFE

  • Mental health services
  • Free, unlimited, and available 24/7/365, in many languages, via chat or phone.

Student Wellness Hub

The Student Wellness Hub provides McGill students access to health and wellness services and programming.  They offer appointments with a variety of clinicians, as well as therapy groups, health promotion, and peer support programs.  Health professionals are available by appointment only.

Students must book an appointment themselves; parents cannot book for students.

Travelling and Accessing Care

Access to health care services while travelling outside of Quebec varies by provider:

Health Insurance

Students have access to different types of insurance, depending on their status.  The Student Wellness Hub offers an overview of health insurance options and a video on navigating healthcare in Quebec
