Borrowing in person at other universities

Information for McGill students, faculty and staff

McGill students, faculty and staff can borrow items in person from academic libraries in Quebec (subject to restrictions determined by individual libraries). To do so, you must present your McGill ID card to the library from which you want to borrow. The PBUQ card is no longer required for borrowing from Quebec academic libraries.

If you wish to borrow from other provinces' academic libraries, you must first obtain a PBUQ card (Partenariat des bibliothèques universitaires du Québec), which you will have to present, along with your McGill ID card, to the library from which you want to borrow. PBUQ cards are available from the Information Desk of any library location during regular service hours.
