The Faculty of Law has a strong exchange program, consisting of partnerships with leading institutions around the world. Approximately 25% of BCL/JD students participate in an exchange or study abroad semester, going to places ranging from Shantou and São Paulo, to Turin and Melbourne. Find out more...

Incoming Exchange Students

Law students from other universities who are interested in coming to Montreal to study Law at McGill University should consult this section. If your home university does not have an exchange agreement with McGill, you may apply to the Faculty of Law as a Visiting student through our Admissions Office.  Find out more...

Inter-University Transfers

The Quebec Inter-University Transfer agreement permits concurrent registration at McGill and another Quebec institution. BCL/JD students are permitted to take up to 6 credits at another Quebec university. Find out more...

Summer Study Away

During the summer term only, BCL/JD students may take up to 6 credits of non-law courses (electives only) at another university for which we have no exchange agreement. Courses must be pre-approved by the SAO. Find out more...
