Long-term disability trust

Wind-up of the long-term disability trust

The Trustees of a closed long-term disability plan (1993) for employees of McGill University are in the process of winding up the trust. There is a small surplus which has been distributed or will be distributed to eligible recipients.

As such, the University is in the process of contacting all eligible former employees who were members of these Plans at December 31, 1993. In order to enable the distribution of funds to which you may be entitled to, you may be asked to confirm personal information held on file as part of the process to authenticate your identity or submit documentation.

If you have already been contacted and information has been verified, the payout of the 1993 surplus will take place in 2020 and 2021. The plan will be closed as of April 30, 2021, after which, any unclaimed amount can be requested directly from Revenu Quebec.
