Faculty Mobility for Partnership Building Program: Please email global.engagement [at] mcgill.ca if you want to apply, so we can send you the form. Global Engagement needs to receive the applications by Nov 30, 2023. Global Engagement then submit the applications on behalf of the candidates.
The Faculty Mobility for Partnership Building Program (FMPBP) is part of Global Affairs Canada’s International Scholarships Program.
The Government of Canada announced FMPBP in 2017 to support the efforts of Canadian post-secondary institutions to expand and diversify their international collaborations.
The program enables professors at Canadian post-secondary institutions to pursue short-term research and/or teaching activities in Latin America and the Caribbean as a means of exploring, creating and advancing institutional partnerships in the areas of research, student mobility, joint programming, capacity building, and others.
The primary objective of the exchange is to create new institutional collaborations and/or to strengthen existing agreements between Canadian and non-Canadian post-secondary institutions eligible under the Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program (ELAP).
DAAD – German Academic Exchange Service: DAAD Canada is dedicated to informing Canadians about the opportunities for study and research in Germany. Information is provided on DAAD’s suite of scholarship and grant programs to students and faculty at Canadian universities, and work to build ties between German and Canadian universities. Erasmus + is a European Union program which supports short-term teaching exchanges between European and non-European higher education institutions. Interested McGill researchers should contact their European collaborators to see if McGill is or could become one of their Erasmus+ partner institution. Fulbright Canada: The Canada-U.S. Fulbright Program operates on the principle of reciprocal exchange and provides the opportunity for outstanding American and Canadian students and scholars to study, lecture and/or conduct research in the other country. McGill / Glasgow Travel Award: The historical links between McGill University and the University of Glasgow go back to 1756, when McGill founder, James McGill, was a student at the University of Glasgow. Over the years, the connections between the universities have been strengthened through a shared commitment to the internationalization of education, expressed through a host of research collaborations and student exchanges. In recognition of this historic partnership, and the Glasgow Honorary Doctorate given to McGill Principal and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Suzanne Fortier, in 2015, McGill will support the short-term mobility of PhD students and postdocs in any discipline seeking to initiate or strengthen research ties with the University of Glasgow.
