The next Parliament of the World’s Religions (PoWR) will be held in Toronto November 1-7, 2018. The Parliament has been meeting every few years since 1893, and is now a world-renowned gathering of people from dozens of faith backgrounds and scores of countries. Recent conferences have drawn attendances numbering more than 10,000.  For details about this incredible conference, please visit the Parliament's website.

Please note that the MORSL offices will be closed on Friday March 30th for Good Friday and the beginning of Passover. There is no zen meditation practice on this date since the Birks building is also closed. MORSL is also closed on Monday April 2, which is Easter Monday and the third day of Passover. Easter and Passover are among the most celebrated holidays in Christianity and Judaism, and bring a message of hope. We wish everyone a joyous holiday and look forward to seeing you when we re-open on April 3rd

After discovering cocaine laced with fentanyl, Montreal Public Health warns recreational drug users to exercise caution.

What is Fentanyl?

Fentanyl is a cheap but powerful synthetic opioid analgesic that is similar to morphine but is 50 to 100 times more potent. The fentanyl equivalent of a few grains of salt could be fatal. Drug dealers are using it as a filler, lacing drugs that come in pill, powder or injectable form. There is even evidence that fentanyl may be laced in marijuana.

In late January 2017, Quebec passed a law that made extra medical fees for services covered by the Régie de l'assurance maladie du Québec (RAMQ) illegal. Because of this law, Student Health Services can no longer provide some vaccines to students.

The Eating Disorder Program is currently under review by McGill University Student Services. However, Psychiatric Services continues to offer support to students with eating disorders who are committed to changing their relationship with food.
