Connected Academics for Arts Speaker Series

How can you become a public scholar who shares their research beyond the university, creates a positive impact and facilitates change? From co-designing research projects with community partners to advocacy-based research for the public good to translating your research to be accessible to a wide audience, public scholarship can take many forms. In this session, we will talk about how you can get started on the path to becoming a public scholar. Join us in a conversation with Prof. Jason Opal (McGill University) and Prof. Kimberley Manning (Concordia University) about finding an audience for your work beyond the ivory tower.

Food and non-alcoholic drinks provided!

 What is Connected Academics?

Connected Academics is a monthly speaker series on topics related to professional development for Arts graduate students organized by Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. All McGill graduate students are invited to participate. Each session will feature a guest speaker followed by a 1 hour community café where you can meet your peers, discuss the theme of the talk, and enjoy some refreshments.
