The Faculty of Science organizes forum lunches for pre-tenure Faculty members across different departments. All pre-tenure faculty members are strongly encouraged to attend to meet other faculty members from other departments. Keep a lookout in your inbox!

Provost's Faculty Mentorship Network

The Provost’s Faculty Mentorship Network will be an important source of guidance and support to all pre-tenure professors. All pre-tenure faculty are eligible to participate in the mentorship program.

Equity in Math

This is a group of students and staff from the Math and Stats department who want to learn about issues of equity, diversity and inclusion in the mathematical sciences, in education, and beyond. Various activities are offered: a reading group, workshops, etc. You may join the mailing list here (you will need to have McGill's VPN or be on campus), or email rosalie.belanger-rioux [at] mcgill.ca to stay up-to-date on events.

Staff Fitness

Through the staff fitness program, a full-time regular staff member can take part in a 13-week fitness course for $20. Sessions are offered twice per week over the lunch break and last 45 minutes. Each semester, 16 finesses courses offered downtown and four courses are offered at the Macdonald campus.

Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM)

The Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) is an international society of supporters (women and men!) of women in math. The AWM offers several programs, events, funding opportunities, and resources.

McGill Women in Computer Science (McWICSs)

McWiCSs seeks to cultivate a warm, open-minded community of techies dedicated to supporting and encouraging women and non-binary people in computer science.

Spectra

Spectra is an association for LGBTQ+ mathematicians and their allies, arising from a need for recognition and community for Gender and Sexual Minority mathematicians.

Anti Black Racism Resources

McGill has prepared a list of resources specific to Anti-Black Racism. This includes self-care resources for Black members of our community, as well as educational resources for those who want to learn more about these issues, and what we can do to address them on a personal level.

Black Faculty & Staff Caucus

The Black Faculty and Staff Caucus of McGill was established to create a nurturing learning and working environment for Black faculty and staff (and, by extension, Black students). They advocate on behalf of Black faculty and staff, participate in consultations related to experiences of Black faculty and staff, initiate outreach to the McGill Black community, and much more.

McGill Science, Equity, and Climate Committee

The Science Equity and Climate Committee (SECC) supports this mission by serving as a hub for communication, capacity building, and initiative development. The SECC also provides a platform for fielding and addressing concerns from Science departments and units. Through these functions, the SECC aims to support excellence within the Faculty of Science by developing programs and policies that foster a climate for working and learning in which all our students, faculty and academic and administrative staff feel included and capable of success as full participants in McGill’s academic mission

My Healthy Workplace (MHW)

My Healthy Workplace (MHW) engages employees by providing opportunities for dialogue with the McGill leadership and a chance to help make McGill a better workplace. It encourages a sense of community among all University employees by ensuring an inclusive membership, and by promoting and facilitating staff participation in a range of interactive recognition, learning and developmental events that improve McGill for all. They hold events, workshops, and discussion groups, providing opportunities for dialogue with the McGill leadership and a chance to help make McGill a better workplace.
