McGill RDM Learning Program in MyCourses

The McGill Research Data Management (RDM) Learning Program is designed to build knowledge and skills to meet researcher’s RDM needs during their day-to-day research activities.

McGill Data Anonymization Workshop Series 2023

Research Software

McGill University

McGill IT Services offers courses, self serve videos and lunchtime learning on practical software topics such as IT security, surveys and forms, web publishing, OneDrive and collaboration with Office 365.

The McGill Library also offers introductory data analysis workshops in Python and R. Please check the Library's Digital Scholarship Hub schedule of workshops and events for more information.

In addition, all McGill staff members have access to the LinkedIn Learning program, which offers hundreds of video courses, which you can do at your own pace, on an extensive array of software development, programming languages and other IT topics.

Calcul Québec

Calcul Québec analysts offer a range of courses on research software development. You will find introductory programming workshops on Python, OpenMP and MPI, GPU libraries, code version control with Git, data analysis with Python and big data analysis with Spark. Many units and initiatives offer workshops on a broad range of topics, please refer to the list below to see what is currently available.

  • The Faculty of Science's Computational and Data Systems Initiative (CDSI) offers workshops on topics related to advanced statistical methods, coding and programming languages, high performance computing, machine learning and general data science.
  • The McGill initiative in Computational Medicine (MiCM) offers yearly workshop series focused on life sciences aspects.
  • McGill's Geographic Information Centre (GIC) offers workshops related to geospatial data science, including training on topics such as data analysis in R, Python, QGIS, ArcMap, working with LiDAR data, and more. For more information, please visit the GIC's workshop registration page.
