United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Ecuador (Remote)

The UNHCR is mandated to lead and coordinate international action to protect refugees and resolve refugee problems worldwide. Its primary purpose is to safeguard the rights and well-being of refugees. It strives to ensure that everyone can exercise the right to seek asylum and find safe refuge in another State, with the option to return home voluntarily, integrate locally or to resettle in a third country. Ecuador is the country that hosts the largest number of recognized refugees in Latin America.

The UNHCR Country Office in Guatemala is located in Guatemala City and works jointly with the Government and civil society organizations to provide protection and assistance to asylum seekers, refugees, persons in transit with international protection needs and persons forcedly displaced.

UNHCR: Haut-Commissariat des Nations Unies pour les réfugiés (Montreal, QC)

Le Haut-Commissariat des Nations Unies pour les réfugiés (HCR) est une agence de l’ONU qui a le mandat international de surveiller la mise en œuvre de la Convention de 1951 relative au statut des réfugiés. Le bureau du HCR à Montréal surveille la bonne mise en application des conventions internationales signées par le Canada en lien avec les réfugiés et les apatrides.
