The LLDRL in the classroom: "The Egalitarian Free Labor Promise of the 13th Amendment"

Integrating conversations about Slavery and the Law into the mandatory curriculum at McGill Law.

As part of continued teaching initiatives on Slavery and the Law at the Faculty of Law (initially fostered via a 2016-2017 specialized seminar by Professor Adelle Blackett), the LLDRL will be hosting a lecture by Professor Rebecca Zietlow on the history and theories underpinning the 13th Amendment to the United States Constitution (the amendment abolishing slavery) and its impact on civil rights and workers' rights in the United States. This lecture will take place on February 15th, 2018 from 11h30 to 13h00 in the Maxwell Cohen Moot Room at the Faculty of Law at McGill University during a special plenary in the 1L Constitutional Law course. Though the event is mandatory for all first-year law students enrolled in this course, the event is open to the public.
