Khalid Umer Siddiqui, a PhD student in the Department of Family Medicine, has been awarded a Health System Impact Fellowship, jointly funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé (FRQS). His PhD research is embedded in a five-year participatory research project on adolescent sexual and reproductive health in Bauchi State, Nigeria and is being supervised by Anne Cockcroft, respiratory physician and global public health researcher at the Department.
The research project aims to develop and evaluate methods to engage local stakeholders in participatory analysis and interpretation of research data. Siddiqui’s Fellowship will allow him to develop a toolkit for methods of undertaking participatory analysis, including practical guidance useful for other researchers.
