Information for Patients

The Immigrant and Refugee Pediatric Dental Clinic at the Montreal Children’s Hospital provides dental care free of charge for children under 10 who are not covered by medicare (RAMQ). The clinic treats refugee and immigrant children who do not yet have access to dental care due to financial constraints or lack of insurance. All care is provided by fourth year dental students supervised by Montreal Children's Hospital staff dentists.

The services are offered free of charge and is supported through donations to the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences.

  •  Radiographs
  • Regular and deep cleanings
  • Fluoride treatments
  • Fillings
  • Extractions

Complex endodontic treatment (root canals) and orthodontic treatment (braces) are not provided.

 

Becoming a Patient

To become a patient at the Immigrant and Refugee Pediatric Dental Clinic, call and leave a message with Solange Veloso at 514-412-4400 ext. 23337 or 514-412-4479 and specify that you would like an appointment at the Student Dental Clinic.

Preference is given to children younger than 10 years who do not have Medicare (RAMQ) coverage, but children up to the age of 12 may receive treatment if space is available. Children with special needs due to medical or behavioral issues or a disability may be referred to the regular hospital clinic.

 

Cancellation Policy

It is the patient’s responsibility to keep scheduled appointments. If appointments are cancelled with 24 hours’ notice, no fee is charged to that patient. A $40 fee will be charged for last minute cancellations and patients that do not come to their appointment.

Hours

Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

The clinic is open from September to April.
