Christophe Bedos
Christophe Bedos is a dentist with a PhD in public health. He is an Associate Professor with the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences of McGill University and Adjunct Professor with the School of public health of Université de Montréal. His research focuses mainly on access to care for the underprivileged and the development of person-centred dentistry. He seeks out answers to the following questions:
- What place does oral health occupy in the lives of the underprivileged?
- How do the living conditions of these individuals impact both their health and recourse to available services?
- How do health professionals perceive the underprivileged and how do they interact with these individuals?
This research program, which is in keeping with Québec's strategy to combat poverty and social exclusion, emphasizes on knowledge translation, which is to say that it seeks to bring tangible public health solutions. Accordingly, Christophe Bedos has developed close partnerships with:
