McGill Students Receive CADR-NCOHR Student Research Presentation Awards

The CADR-NCOHR Student Research Presentation Awards are sponsored by the Canadian Association for Dental Research (CADR) and by the Network for Canadian Oral Health Research (NCOHR). In 2020-21, a total of 20 students received CADR-NCOHR Student Research Presentation Awards to present their research at the virtual IADR/AADR/CADR General Session in July 2021. Two of the winners will also represent Canada at the IADR Hatton Competition in July 2021.

Winning first place and Hatton Competitor in the Senior Clinical / Pre-Clinical Research category, Walid Al-Soneidar represents McGill with his research project co-supervised by Dentistry professor Dr. Belinda Nicolau and Dr. Sam Harper (Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health), titled: "Effect of multiple human papillomaviruses on head and neck cancer."

In the Senior Basic Science Research category, Faez Saleh Al Hamed took first place for his project co-supervised by Faleh Tamimi (McGill Faculty of Dentistry) titled: "Aging affects inflammation and delays healing of plasma-treated bone defects."
