Phoebe Johnston

I am a master’s candidate in the School of Social Work at McGill University. I joined the Centre for Research on Children and Families in November 2016 as a research assistant. Recently, I began coordinating the McGill Childhood Neurodisability Group (MCNG).  I am working closely on a project on the social determinants of health for children with Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NDD) and another focusing on access to the Disability Tax Credit for parents of children with disabilities.

I am completing a thesis for my MSW which looks at the way the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities is being operationalized by front line workers supporting adults with intellectual disabilities.

Previously, I completed a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from King’s College and Dalhousie. I completed a Bachelor of Social Work at the University of British Columbia in 2014 and worked there for several years.
