Hayley is a Fulbright Student who is excited to join the Centre for Research on Children and Families for the 2017-2018 academic year. She earned her B.A. in English with a minor in economics from the College of William & Mary in May 2017. While at the College, Hayley volunteered with adults with developmental disabilities through the Arc of Williamsburg, and also volunteered as an ESL tutor and teacher for adult learners. At the Centre, Hayley assists with research related to Jordan’s Principle and child welfare issues affecting First Nations communities. After her Fulbright year, Hayley plans on attending the University of Virginia School of Law. Hayley’s research interests include Indigenous sovereignty, Aboriginal/ Native child welfare policy, and legal theory and practice.
