McGill Education's Aaron Fellows, Project Coordinator an​​d Kinesiology Clinic Supervisor from the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education, spoke to Shawn Appel at CBC Radio Noon about fitness at home and adapted fitness for those with limitations.

"You don't have to do the perfect workout," says Fellows. "Start small and fit in accumulated exercise throughout the day to keep you motivated."

The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed January 24 as International Day of Education, in celebration of the role of education for peace and development.

Without inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong opportunities for all, countries will not succeed in achieving gender equality and breaking the cycle of poverty that is leaving millions of children, youth and adults behind.

Congratulations to Matt Slopecki who received an award from GESTE (CIHR Team on Gender considerations in knowledge transfer interventions) for “Modelling an approach to gender-conscious participatory action-oriented research and knowledge transfer favouring equality, equity and occupational/environmental health”.

Matt was awarded $6,000 for his project: Are workloads appropriately adjusted for strength differences between men and women? Modeling the interaction of anthropometric load and sex on the progession of fatigue during an upper limb repetitive movement task.

The Department of Integrated Studies in Education's Dr. Allison Gonsalves was asked to speak at McGill's December 6th event honouring the memory of the victims of the Polytechnique Massacre; the 30th anniversary of the tragedy and the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
