Retraite Quebec ends their participation in the reciprocal transfer agreement

On June 19, 2023, the Pension Administration Committee of the McGill University Pension Plan was advised that Retraite Québec will be ending their participation in the reciprocal transfer agreement. This agreement allowed for pension transfers between Québec universities and eligible public-sector pension plans administered by Retraite Québec.

After August 31, 2023, current and former Part A members of the McGill University Pension Plan who previously participated or currently participate in a Quebec public sector plan will no longer be able to transfer credited service to or from a Quebec public sector plan such as the of Government and Public Employees Retirement Plan (RREGOP) and the Pension Plan of Management Personnel (PPMP).
