According to Chris Barrington-Leigh, Ph.D., an associate professor at McGill University, jointly appointed at the Institute for Health and Social Policy and the School of Environment; the scope of possible changes in biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and the political world order makes for an impossibly complex prediction task, even without the huge uncertainties in environmental changes that will beset us. A detailed prediction of how happy we will be, or how life will have changed, is not possible that far in the future.

n recent years, the World Happiness Reports have gained plenty of attention tabulating changes in average satisfaction with life around the world. We now have a good understanding of how such measures capture overall well-being, by asking people how good life feels overall.
