Dr. Jörg Goldhahn is the Medical Director of the Bachelor in Human Medicine at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich, Switzerland. He is based at the Institute for Translational Medicine and leads the team operationalizing the new curriculum. Dr. Goldhahn received his M.D. in 1997 from the Friedrich-Schiller University in Jena, Germany. He completed a Masters of Advanced Studies in Medical Physics and Biomechanics at the ETH Zurich in 2000 and joined the Faculty in 2014. Previous positions include Translational Medicine expert at the Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research (NIBR) in Basel, Director of the Research Department (Upper Extremity) at the Schulthess Clinic in Zurich, Group Leader at the Institute for Biomechanics at ETH, Director of the Research Department of the Clinic for Traumatology and Sports Medicine at the University of Innsbruck, Austria, and leader of the Osteoporosis Research Group at the AO Research Institute in Davos. Dr. Goldhahn is a member of the ETH Ethics Committee and of several boards including the International Society of Fracture Repair (ISFR) and the Swiss Society of Bone and Mineral Research. He is the Scientific Advisor of the Competence Center for Applied Biotechnology and Molecular Medicine (CABMM) in Zurich. Dr. Goldhahn has contributed to more than 100 scientific papers, is a member of the editorial board of the journal Digital Biomarkers, and focuses his current research on principles of medical translation.
