McGill Cares: Nutrition and Healthy Aging

Join us on June 9, 2021 at noon for the next webcast in our biweekly series, McGill Cares, designed to support informal caregivers. During candid, 30-minute interviews with leading experts, Claire Webster, Alzheimer Care Consultant and Founder of the McGill Dementia Education Program, will explore topics related to caring for a loved one with dementia.

Nutrition and Healthy Aging

Dr. Joe Schwarcz, PhD, is Director of McGill University’s Office for Science and Society, which has the mission of separating sense from nonsense. He is the recipient of numerous awards for teaching chemistry and for interpreting science for the public. “Dr Joe” has hosted a radio show on science for forty years, has appeared hundreds of times on television, writes a regular newspaper column and is the author of 18 bestsellers.

Dr. Schwarcz will separate fact from fiction with respect to the relationship between nutrition and healthy aging. He will examine the merit of specific diets that claim to protect the brain or offer other mental or physical health benefits.
