Mapping Your Writing Process with SMART Goals

When it comes to writing, do you feel sometimes as if you were lost and didn’t know which steps to take next? Setting clear and SMART goals is the antidote for that situation, serving as a map to get you out of the woods. In this workshop, we will learn that there are various types of goals and what SMART goals are. We will also talk about strategies and tools that you can use to stay on track and reach your destination. Lastly, we will practice setting goals for yourself and your writing.

Have your schedule ready and come prepared to work on one of your main projects for this semester. If you can, print the handout beforehand, so that you can do the exercises while following the PowerPoint presentation on your screen.

This workshop will be led by Mariève Isabel, a lecturer and instructor at the McGill Writing Centre since 2014. She has played several roles with Graphos, including workshop facilitator, writing group convener, tutor, and writing retreat facilitator.

The workshop will be offered online via Zoom. You will receive the zoom link and other details in the confirmation email once you submit the form.

Students must register for the event with their McGill email accounts!
