Tuesday, December 17, 2019 16:00
Raymond Building R3-048, 21111 Lakeshore Road, St Anne de Bellevue, QC, H9X 3V9, CA

Special 4-O'Clock Forum presentation by Dr. Nadiia I. Adamchuk-Chala, Scientist, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Everyone is welcome to attend.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Dr. Adamchuk-Chala is a Scientist at the Institute of Microbiology and Virology of Zabolotnyi, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Kyiv, Ukraine). Her Ph.D. work focused on “Structural changes of the photosynthetic apparatus in onthogenes of Arabidopsis thaliana (L.) plants under change gravity conditions”. Dr. Adamchuk-Chala participated in the joint US-Ukraine space mission STS-87 to study plant growth in a gravity-free environment and has led numerous educational and public outreach programs on this topic. She studied the functionality of stabilization and control of artificial ecosystems based on the architectonics of plant microbial systems. She developed new technologies to analyze the dynamics of substrate microbiota, bacterial and fungal associations as well as the interactions among them. Her most recent work is focused on the architectonics of microbial coenosis of the rhizosphere of Arabidopsis and legumes with parallel monitoring of the photosynthetic apparatus of plants for the formation of effective plant-microbial systems.
