The Coalition for a Better Future is a diverse group of Canadian leaders and organizations – across business, labour and civil society – working together to achieve a more inclusive, sustainable and prosperous Canada.

Each of us brings to the table a unique perspective, but we are united in our belief that economic growth is necessary for the kind of Canada we want. We need a stronger economy to produce rising incomes, afford social programs, and finance Canada’s transition to a cleaner environment.

This discussion with the Honourable Lisa Raitt, the Honourable Anne McLellan, and Susannah Pierce will discuss climate challenge, energy transition and reaching net zero; productivity growth; representation of women in executive positions; and Canada's economic position, both domestic and globally. Hon. Lisa Raitt

The Honourable Lisa Raitt is vice-chair of global investment banking at CIBC and formerly the Deputy Leader of the Official Opposition. Having served in the House of Commons for eleven years, she held three portfolios as a Conservative cabinet minister: natural resources, labour and transport.

Hon. Anne McLellan

The Honourable Anne McLellan is senior advisor at Bennett Jones in Edmonton. A former Deputy Prime Minister, Anne was a Liberal MP from 1993-2006 and held multiple ministerial portfolios including: Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, Justice, and Natural Resources.

Susannah Pierce
