The Schulich School of Music is proud to announce that Jingjing Xu, mezzo-soprano, is the winner of the 2022 – 2023 Wirth Vocal Prize! Please join us in congratulating her on this monumental achievement.

The Wirth Vocal Prize is one of the most prestigious and exclusive prizes awarded to young musicians in North America. It was established in 2015 by Montreal philanthropist Elizabeth Wirth and recognizes a Schulich School of Music voice student who demonstrates exceptional talent and significant promise for an international career.

Michelle Bawden, soprano, and Ilanna Starr, mezzo-soprano, also deserve special recognition for reaching the final round of the competition.

Congratulations to all the competition participants! We couldn’t be prouder to have such a talented group of vocalists at our School.

And thank you to everyone who attended the competition and helped make it a truly special event. Your support for our students makes all the difference. We look forward to seeing you at future performances.
