Behind the Piece | Violin Concerto in B-Flat Major by Regina Strinasacchi | 2022 · Episode 1

Behind the Piece: Conversation meets pre-concert lecture when we explore a single piece on the programme. The music, the composer, the preparation and performance — where the discussion leads, we follow!

In this episode, we explore the Violin Concerto in B-Flat Major by Regina Strinasacchi (c. 1761-1839).

The McGill Baroque Orchestra, co-led by Hank Knox and Dorian Bandy are set to perform the modern-day premiere of the concerto thanks to research and preparation done by Schulich musicology PhD candidate Hester Bell Jordan.

Guests this episode are Dorian Bandy and Hester Bell Jordan along with the three Schulich violinists playing the concerto with orchestra — Gracie Carney, Jeanel Liang, and Etienne Pemberton-Renaud.
