New tool for instructors - "Putting student feedback into perspective: A tool for reflection and action"
Teaching and Learning Services has created a new tool designed to help instructors make sense of students’ course evaluation comments and provide them with a framework for making decisions about appropriate next steps.
This tool has two parts:
Customization of questionnaires: Updated bank of recommended questions
Did you know... Units can customize their questionnaires? Note that for Fall 2018 course evaluations, final versions of questionnaires must be submitted by Thursday, October 18. Units are encouraged to obtain feedback on their questionnaires from Teaching and Learning Services (TLS). BackgroundMcGill University values quality in the courses it offers its students. End-of-course evaluations provide valuable student feedback and are one of the ways that McGill works towards maintaining and improving the quality of courses and the student learning experience.
September 2017: Make course evaluation results available to students by term
Numerical results of course evaluations are accessible by McGill students and academic staff (hereafter, the “McGill community”) for courses when the following two conditions are met:
December 2016: New features in the Mercury system
The following system enhancements have been made to the Mercury system as of December 2016:
Updates regarding equity and deletion of Mercury course evaluation data

Update, November 30: The issue reported below has been resolved.
We are currently experiencing an issue in which any Excel files downloaded from the Mercury system are not opening automatically through Microsoft Excel on Windows PCs.
