The institute is held in collaboration with OFNIE's partners at the Cree School Board of Eeyou Istchee, the Kahnawà:ke Education Center and the Kativik School Board of Nunavik, and offers art courses on campus. Fourteen teachers are involved in this institute and all are enrolled in OFNIE's B.Ed. for Certified Teachers program.
Housed in the Department of Integrated Studies in Education, the Faculty of Education's First Nations and Inuit Education programs have worked in partnership with Indigenous communities throughout Quebec since 1976.
