Faculty of Education appoints Fiona Benson as Associate Dean, Academic Programs

The Faculty of Education is pleased to announce that Fiona Benson has been appointed as Associate Dean, Academic Programs, effective July 1st, 2017. In this position she will be responsible for the governance of academic programs across the Faculty, and coordinating and facilitating the monitoring, evaluation and development of academic programs.

Prof. Benson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Integrated Studies in Education, Director of the Office of Internships and Student Affairs, and Associate Director of the Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning. Her scholarly interests include teacher education, master teaching and the vocational lifespan of teachers, well-being and social justice education, organizational development, and performance management.

After eight consecutive years as Associate Dean Academic Programs, Professor Elizabeth Wood is taking a sabbatical year. We thank her for all the years of loyalty and dedication to the Faculty. Prof. Wood has worked tirelessly and has successfully spearheaded numerous new academic programs, initiatives and projects for the Faculty.
