ECP's Prof. Shore, alumni Masden and Leung receive MENSA Research Award

RESEARCH NEWS- The faculty is pleased to announce that the following paper has received an American Mensa Education & Research Foundation and Mensa International Limited Award for Excellence, 2017, for Research on Human Intelligence and Intellectual Giftedness:

Masden and Leung are alumni of the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology (ECP) at McGill's Faculty of Education. Catherine Masden received her PhD in School/Applied Child Psychology in 2004, Olivia Leung received her PhD in School/Applied Child Psychology in 2015.  

Barry Schneider (OISE-University of Toronto and University of Ottawa) and Steve Udvari (formerly of OISE-University of Toronto) were co-collaborators. Dr. Bruce Shore is Emeritus Professor with the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology (ECP). This is the sixth such award for papers published by Prof. Shore and his students.  

This research examined links among academic ability, social-perspective coordination, and friendship quality, within the context of gifted adolescents’ friendships.
