Research Seminar with Kara Fletcher, University of Regina - "She sounded angry over text": The impact of technology on couple attachment and functioning

The presentation will focus on results from a two-part study on the impact of technology on romantic attachments. I will discuss findings from 44 interviews conducted with individuals about their perceived relationship with technology and how they feel it affects their romantic relationships. I will also share findings from the second part of the study which was a case study of couple therapy with a couple who felt that technology use was a large cause of disagreement and conflict in their relationship. The interrelation of attachment, addictive behaviours, and self-regulation will be explored.
