Biography: 

Ibrahim Abou-Haidar is a Director, Senior Commercial Markets at RBC Royal Bank, and a West Island Chamber of Commerce board member. He is also an Online course development author and a lecturer in Risk Management and Insurance, Risk Financing, and Strategic Planning and implementation at McGill University. On many occasions, Ibrahim was invited as a Guest speaker at HEC Montreal, on Project risk management and several chambers of commerce and embassies across Atlantic Canada, Ontario, and Quebec on subjects related to International Trade, Trade agreements, and Risk Management.

Ibrahim holds a bachelor's degree and an MBA, both with an emphasis on Management and finance. After completing Moody’s financial analyst certification and risk management courses at McGill University, he earned the Canadian Risk Management (CRM) professional designation awarded by Global Risk Management Institute Inc. (GRMI)-New York. He is also a member of the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS).

With a career in commercial banking that started in 1999, Ibrahim has extensive experience in advising businesses in Canada and internationally, on Financial Structuring, Risk Management, Strategic Planning, and international expansion. Besides his international banking experience, Ibrahim held several senior roles at the Royal Bank of Canada, serving Quebec and Atlantic Canada markets.

Ibrahim has been strongly committed to social causes in the community providing support through charitable fundraising activities, and mentoring candidates integrating into the Quebec job market with the metropolitan Montreal Board of Trade and the Association of Quebec Women in Finance -AFFQ.
