Money Matters

COVID-19 and record inflation rates throughout the world have caused many of our budgets to come under intense pressure (if they weren’t already before). Moreover, as a student, this strain is compounded by tuition fees and perhaps a reduced ability to work.

McGill’s Scholarships and Student Aid Office offers the Frugal Scholar’s Money Management program, a financial literacy program tailored for students. Their website offers a wealth of information on budgeting, credit and debt management, estimating your financial resources, tips and tricks to cut your costs, as well as a budget plan.
Additionally, you may access a variety of pre-recorded workshops on demand that cover themes such as Budgeting and Navigating Financial Stress. It may seem far off, but tax season has a way of sneaking up on us. Don’t worry. McGill has you covered with tax information sessions in March and April.

While the McGill School of Continuing Studies students are typically not eligible for financial aid through Scholarships and Student Aid Office, there are a number of options to explore within the School, including bursaries, scholarships and government assistance.
