Biography: 

Abdelrahman received the B.Sc. degree in electrical power engineering from Alexandria University, Alexandria, Egypt, in 2016, and the M.A.Sc. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Waterloo, Waterloo, ON, Canada, in 2018. He is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering with McGill University, Montreal, QC, Canada. He is also a Research Assistant with the Renewable Energy Integration Group, CanmetEnergy, Natural Resources Canada, Varennes, QC, Canada. His main research interests include low-carbon energy systems long-term planning, large-scale renewable energy resources integration, and the applications of machine learning in modern energy systems.

Abdelrahman was a recipient of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) Alexander Graham Bell Canada Graduate Scholarship-Doctoral (CGS-D) and the Fonds de recherche du Québec–Nature et Technologies (FRQNT) Doctoral Scholarship in 2021.

Abdelrahman is passionate about teaching and engaging in constructive discussion-based learning and has been involved in over 20 courses in a variety of subjects ranging from electrical engineering, statistics, machine learning and data analytics.
