"It's a very good introduction to anti-inflammatory meals," said a staff member at one of our clinics. "I borrowed it for my sister who has MS, but I ended up following the recipes myself. The grocery lists make it so easy to plan ahead and everything tasted great."

Feel free to drop by the Neuro-Patient Resource Centre (room 354) to borrow the book!

A series of boiler combustion tests are scheduled for Wednesday, November 22, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Thursday, November 23, from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. These tests might cause a large steam plume and high levels of noise. It is important to note that the tests will not pose any health or safety risk.

During these tests, we will temporarily increase steam demand beyond normal levels. This helps us simulate the impact of adding more buildings to our network, such as the New Vic, and ensure that our equipment can safely handle this increased demand.

At the start of the semester, we had to close access to the Raymond Octagon 4th-floor classrooms unexpectedly. Debris of asbestos-containing plaster had been found in the cavity between the roof and the ceiling of two of the classrooms as we prepared for necessary work on the roof. This work, combined with the design of the ceiling – which included openings between tiles – presented a risk of asbestos fibres being released during the work.

When we reopened the Raymond, Macdonald-Stewart and Barton buildings in March 2023, we established a temporary air testing program that consisted of testing for the presence of airborne asbestos in more than 35 areas across the complex. This testing program was not a regulatory requirement but rather put in place out of an abundance of caution.
