Facilities Management and Ancillary Services is planning a major electrical shutdown from Friday May 3rd 7:00am to Sunday May 5th 6:00pm which will affect the Barton Building and result in the closure of the Macdonald Campus Library Friday, May 3rd. The Library will be closed weekends staring May 1st, for complete hours, see the Libraries hours page.

StackMap, the online mapping and way-finding tool found in the catalogue that physically locates items in the stacks will be discontinued effective May 30, 2024. The bulk of materials featured in StackMap have moved to McGill University Collections Centre scheduled to open in June 2024.

As of Monday, April 8, McGill students are able to access the Nahum Gelber Law Library 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As agreed between the Students' Society of McGill University (SSMU) and the Law Students Association (LSA), the Nahum Gelber Law Library will limit access to the three upper floors of the library to Law students only during the April 15 to 30 examination period.
