Nancy Mayo delivers Ramon J. Hnatyshyn Lecture

On September 13, 2007, Dr. Nancy Mayo delivered the 5th Ramon J. Hnatyshyn Lecture, sponsored by the Canadian Stroke Network. She presented her research on the efficiency of community programs to further promote health and quality of life in stroke survivors after they have left the hospital. She also underlined the importance of such programs in decreasing feelings of depression and loneliness that can lead to poor health and to a return trip to the hospital. Dr. Mayo is currently leading a large-scale, multi-centre research study on community programs sponsored by the Canadian Stroke Network.
