As organizations struggle to rethink leadership for the 21st century, new insights are being drawn from an unexpected source: jazz music.

Leadership lessons from the world of jazz have been gaining traction in the business world, with books and articles on the subject from outlets like Forbes, Inc Magazine and the Harvard Business Review. Now, musicians and leaders in Montreal are working together to bring this new view of leadership to the city’s business community.

Hosted by McGill University’s School of Continuing Studies, Jazz & Leadership : A Workshop Like No Other promises an interactive and experiential environment with instruction by distinguished experts in the areas of leadership, management, organizational change, and negotiation... and of course, live jazz music from the Galea Quartet.

Three special guest experts have been invited to initiate attendees into a new view of leadership and jazz up their leadership skills with unique and uncommon tools and insights.

- Jay Hewlin, Esq., Faculty Lecturer at McGill’s Desautels Faculty of Management and School of Continuing Studies, Lawyer and Musician.
- Merling Sapene, Head of Process, Data Methodology and Facilitation Domain at Bombardier and author of Immigrant: A Bumpy or Smooth Road! How to Succeed Managing Change During our Integration Journey.
- Dr. Robert Saggers, Leadership and Learning Consultant and McGill Lecturer for over 25 years.

Guests can expect to insights and tools to achieve the following:

The evening will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, from 5:30 to 8 :30 pm at the McGill Faculty Club (3450 McTavish Street). Groups of 3 or more will receive 15% off when signing up.
