Samer Faraj, Professor of Strategy & Organization, named a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada

Professor Samer Faraj has been named a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada’s Academy of Social Sciences. This honour is conferred upon Professor Faraj in recognition of his outstanding research and scholarly achievement.

Professor Faraj, (Canada Research Chair in Technology, Innovation and Organizing), is an internationally recognized management scholar recognized for his contributions to the study of expertise coordination in teams, online knowledge communities, complex collaboration in the workplace, and the transformative effects of emerging technologies on existing and novel forms of organizing. Currently, he is investigating collaboration and organizing within the Canadian healthcare sector, particularly exploring the potential of emerging technologies to enhance healthcare provision.

The Royal Society of Canada will welcome the Class of 2023 new RSC Fellows, who will be inducted on Friday, November 17th, during the Annual Celebration of Excellence and Engagement (COEE), in Waterloo, Ontario.

Founded in 1882, the Royal Society of Canada (RSC) comprises the Academies of Arts, Humanities and Sciences, and The College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists. The RSC recognizes excellence, advises the government and the larger society, and promotes a culture of knowledge and innovation in Canada and with other national academies around the world.
