Prix d'excellence du REPAR - Isabelle Gagnon

Isabelle J. Gagnon, PT, PhD has been awarded le Prix d’excellence du REPAR (Reseau provincial de recherche en adaptation-readaptation)!

Over the past five years, Dr. Gagnon has led or contributed to the writing of 47 original articles (more than half involving her students) and published a book. She was also invited, in 2014, to participate in the development of the first-ever guidelines for the diagnosis and management of pediatric concussions (sponsored by the Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation) and then to their revision in 2019. This has led to the creation of an online tool that offers evidence-based recommendations to standardize the diagnosis and management of concussions in children and adolescents from initial assessment to recovery, including back to school and social activities. Participating in the development of these guidelines facilitates the connection between traditional scientific writing and the transfer of knowledge to the clinical community as well as to the general population, and is the future of real change in practice.
