Migrant dies crossing from US to Quebec | CTV News
February 28, 2023 | This past week a 45 year old man died attempting to cross the Canada-US border, as well as the 367 cases reported in January. The solution to this attempt was identified as closing the irregular border passage. In an interview with CTV news, Professor Pearl Eliadis stated that people will try to cross regardless and that it's better to maintain some informal paths to avoid free fall.
She said "It actually makes a lot more sense for us to have a few concentrated areas of border crossings where people know where to go and don't freeze to death, where there are medical services."
