Gernot Wagner is an expert in environmental science, public policy, economics and government. His books include Climate Shock: The Economic Consequences of a Hotter Planet, But Will the Planet Notice? and Geoengineering: The Gamble. He teaches at Columbia Business School.

With his impeccable economic credentials and informed, impassioned environmental advocacy, Wagner lays out pathways available to steer the world toward a balanced climate policy portfolio. His research helps the public understand that we need to think about climate change in the same way that we think about insurance: as a riskmanagement problem, on a global scale.
