FÁBIO BRUM

Brazilian born Fábio Brum is an international trumpet artist and newest member of the internationally acclaimed CANADIAN BRASS. He has lived and studied in five different countries and appeared in more than thirty countries around the world as a soloist, orchestral performer and teacher. 

During his career, he won several prizes and awards at International Music Competitions, such as at the Cittá di Porcia International Competition, the Prague Spring International Competition, the Juan García Marín International Trumpet Competition, Ellsworth Smith International Trumpet Competition, International Trumpet Guild Solo Competition and many others. Brum has also received various scholarships and awards including the Novara Award, DAAD, Baden-Württemberg Stipend, Lake Placid Institute Scholarship, Leon Rapier Memorial Scholarship and the Melvin Dickinson Scholarship. 

Some of the prestigious ensembles that Fábio has actuated with include the Canadian Brass, Orquesta de la Radio Televisión Española (Spain), Ensemble Intercontemporain (France), Orchester des Staatstheater Darmstad (Germany), Orquesta Nacional de España (Spain), Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo (Brazil), Banda da Guarda Nacional Republicana (Portugal), The Brass Company Quintet (United States), and many others. Fabio has collaborated with well known conductors such as, Lorin Maazel, Semion Bychkov, Matthias Pintscher, among others. 

Fábio acted as Principal Trumpet of the Orquestra Sinfônica Brasileira (Brazil) and of the Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla (Spain) for over 10 seasons. He is a graduate of the University of Louisville (USA) and of the Hochschule für Musik, Karlsruhe (Germany).
