The Food Convergent Innovation Forum is an engaging and educational event organized by Enactus McGill in collaboration with Impact Hub and the McGill Centre for the Convergence of Health and Economics (MCCHE).

In this event, students, entrepreneurs, industry and community partners will come together to gain a holistic comprehension of complex problems such as food security and to learn how to solve such problems through convergent innovation.

The event will take place at the Salon 1861 on November 30th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.

The theme of the forum is food security and how to address such a complex problem through convergent innovation. Convergent innovation intertwines social, technological and institutional innovation to simultaneously derive measurable social and economic benefits. The forum will include guest speakers, a panel of discussion, workshops and a pitching competition. The event will teach participants on how to understand structural problems and how to speak for and frame a professional start-up pitch.

Participants will learn from top-notch professional and entrepreneurs working in the field. In addition, the workshops will be designed to give participants the necessary knowledge and skills to act upon their ideas to become social impact-makers They will also have the opportunity to discuss and network with professional and student organizations tabling during the whole duration of the event.

The event is organized in line with the McGill x World Vision Canada Social Innovation Challenge focused on food security, and will provide a unique opportunity for participants to learn more about the issue and to practice their entrepreneurial skills.

Finally, a special feature of the forum is a Food Innovation Challenge where entrepreneurs can pitch their social business ideas. The winners will be rewarded a $500 prize and given the opportunity to get mentorship from industry experts.

The deadline to apply for this is November 22nd.
