  • Catherine Jarvis, Assistant Professor at the Department of Family Medicine and Director of Faculty Development.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify barriers in giving feedback to learners in difficulty
  • Describe three common perceptions of residents needing remediation
  • Compare and contrast various strategies for coaching residents in difficulty

About the Speakers

Perle Feldman, MDCM, CCFP, FCFP, MHPE is an Associate Professor at the Department of Family Medicine at McGill University. She returned to McGill after eight years at University of Toronto where she was the Post-Graduate Program Director for Family Medicine at North York General Hospital and an Associate Professor of Family Medicine, a member of the Curriculum Committee and a consultant to the Faculty Development Committee. She has taught family medicine for over thirty years, currently teaching at CLSC Parc Extension.

Catherine Jarvis, MD, FCFP is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Family Medicine. She practices and teaches family medicine at the CLSC Cote-des-Neiges, a McGill University affiliated teaching unit. Dr. Jarvis has held several leadership roles including Faculty Development Site Lead at the CLSC Côte-Des-Neiges, McGill Family Medicine Faculty Development Committee Member, and Medical Director of the Herzl Family Practice Centre’s Obstetrical Intake Clinic. She is currently the Director of Faculty Development for McGill’s Department of Family Medicine.
