The Child Psychiatry Research Committee is sponsoring a Child Psychiatry Research Seminar.  This seminar is open to all staff and students. The seminar will be informal and encourage active audience participation and discussion.

“Medical Psychiatric Genetics”

Presenter:  Yannis Trakadis, MD,

Dr. Trakadis is a medical geneticist and a specialist in metabolic genetics at McGill. He is accepting referrals for patients with psychiatric disease in his clinic at the Glen and recently he started a psychiatric genetics clinic at the Douglas hospital.  Dr. Trakadis’ research focus lies on psychiatric genomics and inborn errors of metabolism associated with cognitive and neuropsychiatric impairment. His lab has been analyzing thousands of exomes from patients with SCZ and unaffected controls in an effort to advance complex psychiatric genomics. Dr. Trakadis is also involved in research combining metabolomics and genomics for the discovery of biomarkers in psychiatry and for the diagnosis of metabolic genetic disorders in psychiatric clinics.
